will the dog eat a little bit of parsley? sometimes this helps.
Ive *expressed the glands*..so i know its a gross job--but has to be done. maybe you could take dog to a groomer and ask them to do it and give him/her a bath? its worth it--and helps the dog with problems it could have later with impacted glands.
hope this helps =)

Is it her body odor in general or is the smell coming from her mouth?
Many food companies use "fish oils" and don't define what type of fish. The only fish beneficial to dogs is salmon, herring and menhaden. Others WILL make your dog smell bad as the dogs can't utilize the fish oils and they simply STINK, through their skin pores, out the mouth, ears etc. If this is the case, you need to switch foods, read labels and avoid any fish product except for those 3 listed above. It will take some time for the odor to dissipate (3 months or so)
If the smell is coming from her mouth, her teeth may have a large buildup of tartar under the gumline. Rotting food + dog saliva = fish mouth!! She will need her teeth scaled by a vet asap.
If the smell is coming from her breathing, ie: from her stomach (halitosis) again, you need to look at foods, indigestible ingredients and fillers and yes, fish oils not listed above, can cause doggy breath.
Otherwise, if she's rolled in something outside ie: dead animal, feces, etc, you'll need a deodorizing shampoo. Leave the product on her skin and coat for 10 mins before rinsing. You might need to repeat it 2 or 3 times before the smell is gone.
If its' her anal glands (you'll know they need to be squeezed if you find a rancid clear sticky fluid on her behind) you best get into a vet or groomer who can do it painlessly and for very little money. These can become infected or impacted so it's best to take care of it asap.
Good Luck, I hope this helps.

Is the dog allowed outside? If so he may be rolling in something dead a bird or anything? that smell is perfume to your dog. bathe him in a good dog shampoo not human kind and get a spray made for doggie odors from the vets or a pet store. Do u notice the smell after hes been out side? We had a dog do this and it was a strange terrible smell.I doubt the glands are doing this.I think he is rolling in some good stuff to him.watch where he goes outside

You didn't say what kind of dog it is. Some breeds are more prone to stinking than others. Have you checked her ears for extreme buildups of oils, earwax, ear mites, etc? Sometimes that can help. Bathe her, of course. Even among the same breeds, some dogs just get stinkier than others, and require more frequent baths. Does she have any skin rashes under her hair, or known allergies to anything? My female Staffordshire was allergic to, of all things, dust mites! So she itched and stunk.

Is that the cause of the smell?
She is totally dependent on you to take care of her. You can do it, or you can pay to have it done.
If you don't want to do it, take her to the vet and have the technician do it. Many dog groomers will also express the anal sacs also.

bathe your pup in a scented shampoo you love. sometimes smells like that are caused from sweat, is there anything that smells like that you are feeding him/her? i would personally change the diet and see if that also alleviates the problem.
