I had a Dachund/Pekinese mix that got pregnant by a Great Dane. Seriously. My mom thought the poor thing would explode. She had 6 healthy puppies all by herself, she didn't need any vet assistance which was amazing.
The pups grew up to be the dumbest looking things you have ever seen in your life. They were the size of a Cocker Spaniel, with freakishly long legs, but their heads were the size of a woman's fist. The people who took them said they were the best dogs they ever owned.
Go figure.

nnever really owned a dog with a weird combination of breeds, but I would think a chihuahua and an Irish wolfhound would be pretty strange.

As for the person who said that their "Dachund/Pekinese mix that got pregnant by a Great Dane. Seriously. The mom thought the poor thing would explode. She had 6 healthy puppies all by herself, she didn't need any vet assistance which was amazing." Well, I am not buying that for a moment. The pups would have been bigger than the mama dog and there is no way she could have carried them to term, much less delievered them with no problem. Mo way!

The strangest mixed breed dog that I own is the the dog that I have now, we don't know what he is ,the people who we got him from put the mother dog outside and so many "dogs" visit the mother dog . The dog looks like a lab without a tail,he was born without one, he is brown and about 25 pounds, but he is very sweet. He does look very strange

this is true okay? i had a basset hound and red bone hound mix, she was built like a basset and the color of the red bone, she was pretty, and had a howl on her and would tree anything and stay for days if you did not go and get her.
She came into heat and I thought she was out, so I let her out of her pen to go and run. I found her and the neighbors calahoula cow dog in a compromising position and the results were abnormal to say the most flattering thing I can think of.
She had 10 puppies from that one mating. I mean who would have thought it. Any way I had 2 or 3 that were shaped like her but gray colored with blue eyes, and the others except for one were colored like her and built like th calahoula. Except for it.
We named it , It. It was gray with red spots, yeah red spots like a paint horse. It had one blue eye and one brown eye, It was built long and low like a basset and had ears that perked up but were long like the basset. I can't tell you how very breathtaking this dog was. It found a home with some people who trained it to round up the cattle for them and was the best dog of the bunch. But man was it ever really terrifying to look at. Like a bad splicing at the laboratory.

I had an Austrailian Blue Heeler and Great Dane mix. Absolutely adorable sweetheart

and btw chihuahua lady, the puppies were small and so it is entirely possible for the peck/chih to have great dane pups. my puppy was less than a pound when she was born and she ended up being close to 100. she had a big growth spurt at 12 weeks.

I own a chihuahua/maltese mix and she is the strangest dog i've seen, she has the color of a schnauzer but looks like a chihuahua and the color makes her look like and old dog but she is only one year old.

labrador retriever and catahoula cattle dog.
She was smart as a whip, protective as a German Shepherd, and tenderhearted as any dog could be.
