Another day, another "is Tyson the baddest man in the world" question...Tyson isn't even the baddest guy in the *sport* any more. He's been exposed as a guy who can't take a punch anymore by not only Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis, but by far lesser heavyweights like Danny Williams and Kevin McBride. His biggest worry right now is to make sure that none of his hand picked exhibition opponents in PRIDE don't knock him out. In terms of sheer badness, he won't even be in the top ten "baddest men" in the PRIDE locker room. "Iron Mike" better not try to roll up on Fedor Emelieneko (who IMO *is* the "baddest man in the world" at the moment) or recent Open Weight GP winner Mirko "Cro Cop" Fillipovic....it won't end well for Mike. At least he had the good sense not to actually *compete* in PRIDE like the flabby fraudulent pugulist Butterbean. 'bean got taken down, arm barred and submitted in under a minute and a half in his PRIDE debut by a medicocre MMA fighter who he outweighed by 250 bills. Thanks for coming, 'bean, now get thee to the WWE where you belong...

Just to give "Ice Ice Baby" a dose of reality, there's *no one* in the sport "dodging" Mike Tyson. He's just a non-entity in the boxing world anymore. As far as the top heavyweights in the world are concerned, he's completely irrelevant...

And here's my daily rumination on how and why the general public continues to drink the Tyson kool-aid. He was a powerful, raw talent that good boxing people like Cus D'amato and Kevin Rooney turned into a champion. When these good boxing people weren't around him anymore, his career fell apart. He's not the best heavyweight ever(he's not even in the top ten) and for that matter, he's not even the best heavyweight of his era (I'd probably give that nod to Lennox Lewis or Evander). He's never been the baddest man on the planet, and he sure isn't now...and I even consider myself a *fan* of Tyson--I've always had a soft spot for the guy. I'm not a Tyson myopic, however, and have a good perspective where he fits in the history of "the sweet science" and on the continuum of overall badness...

When this guy was in his prime he was 'Bad to the Bone'. I'm particularly referring to the Cus D'Amato period. After that he got a little out of control. In boxing there may be many styles but the persona and style of M.T. was that of a street fighter. I think that he would have been a great candidate for the Ultimate Fighting Championship and those kind of venues that are now being viewed by a large, young segment of the "boxing" audience.

Bad decision maker, maybe yes. As a person he is very polite and courteous. I use to work at a theatre in the Phoenix area and he use to go there all the time. He always said "thank you" to the staff when they helped him and signed autographs for them. Nice guy.

All these guys dogging Mike Tyson...but I bet they would not tell him anything in front of his face.....so I guess he is still bad but the baddest has to go to Marvin Hagler.
