Depends on how long the puppy limps for. Some dogs limp after u step on their paw or if they stub it anywhere from the pain. Then they walk it off,but if the fall was high and the puppy cried, plz take it to a vet ASAP. Good luck

Take him to the vet as soon as they open; he will probably need x-rays. Toy dogs are extremely fragile - if you're lucky it's only a sprain. Otherwise, he's going to need expensive surgery for torn ligaments or a broken leg. This is why toy dogs should NEVER be on a bed or couch unsupervised or when you are sleeping. Good luck.

Take him to the vet. My puppy Shih-tzu fell off of my bar stool and cried when he hit the floor and refused to walk. This was at 12:30 a.m. in the morning. I put him up there to clean his face and when I turned around to put the towel in the washing machine, he jumped down. We went to the after hours emergency vet and he had to have a cast. He did not break his leg but fractured it. I felt so bad, it was all my fault.

Such a small dog, especially a puppy can do injury to themselves by jumping from so high up (well, high to them anyway.) It could be a soft tissue injury that will heal on it's own, but to be sure, I would reccomend that you take them into see your vet. If they feel it is a soft tissue injury, they will probably prescribe an anti-inflammatory and rest. There is also the possiblility that they will reccomend x-rays, just to be sure he/she hasn't caused any deeper damage.

Small dogs have fragile bones. It is possible your dog broke it's leg. A vet can make sure it is in the right position to heal correctly. A badly aligned broken leg can cause a life time of pain. Please take it to a vet.
