I disagree that spanish will be taking over the English language. Not that i'm against Mexicans or anything,i have a boyfriend who is mexican. But mostly a lot of peeople here speak english. One thing i do believe is that spanish is mostly a second language here. The United States might not have spanish as the official launguage due to that not everyone one in the U.S is mexican.America is supposed to be a place with lots of other people that have different backgrounds come here for freedom.

No, the beauty of the United States is its ability to absorb immigrants and the abilities of immigrants to learn the American way. No other country has achieved this, although Switzerland does it quite well. One of the critical components of this success is one national language -- American English.
Really this is no different from 2 generations ago when every large city had its sections where only Italian or only German or only Hebrew were spoken. These groups assimilated; the hispanics will as well.

Keep dreaming there Sanchez... you are talking about The United States. There may be some lazyass people that won't do crap about you and your illegal, job swiping, law breaking brothers and sisters from waving the mexican flag and dancing around our streets but if you think those same lazy people won't do anything to stop Spanish from becoming the official language of any part of The United States, you are sadly mistaken.

It will never be the official language, but it will get to the point where employers will want people who speak Spanish over people who don't. It will be the Unofficial official language.

There will be a revolt of English-speaking Americans before that ever happens. Push your luck a little too far, buddy, and you'll get your butt handed to you.
