I dunno. I sometimes think when I talk to some of the people at church, I feel that they are sometimes a bit extreme. Then I start to have doubts about myself. I never doubt God, but I wonder if some things that other Christians do are extreme.

Ah yes...it is normal to question your faith, as a matter of fact, i encourage it to all believers...this is a way to let your faith grow. It is also a way to get a closer relationship with god, and not religion. God loves you, and he wants you to love him...that relationship must be as intimate as the one you will have with your spouse!!

Good luck and God Bless!!

I have many doubts...when it comes to the teachings of false teachers.

Matthew 7:15-16 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits.

Unfortunatly more and more mainstream televenagelists and preachers say they are teching God's word but they are far from it. The only reason they have been allowed to make it this far today is because very few read the Bible any more so they can not discern false teachers for themselves!

After many years of searching I find the Bible to be the truth above all other texts because of its historical accuracy, eye witness testimony, and the validity and wisdom of the words from Jesus Christ, Solomon, Paul, etc...

Scripture says to, "try the spirits to see if they be of God or not". Anything taught must fit with the Word of God. The Bible is an extensive network of doctrines (teachings) from front to back and they must all fit together like the brick in a wall. If a teaching does not fit with the other verses on the subject then it needs to be discarded as a teaching of man and not God. Of course this is going to put the responsibility on you to study for yourself.

Yes, You should read all of the scriptures for yourself. You should ask the Lord to help you understand the scriptures before you read them and meditate on them. If after reading the whole Holy Bible for yourself if you are not satisfied with the church you are attending, you should find a church that will line up with your own understanding of the scriptures. I belong to the Church of God 7th Day, but it is because as a child I was taught to read the scriptures for myself and then decide what church to join.

You need the complete revelation of God, not just part of it, in order to truly understand.

Then, you need to apply your faith to your own life and see how it really fits.

Then, instead of discarding portions of the faith that don't fit, you begin to rework your life, instead.

The church with the best written documentation and the most consistent teachings of all time is the Catholic church.

It's also the church with the oldest and most complete faith tradition.

Other groups claim to find all their answers in scripture, but in truth, they haven't even discovered all the questions yet.

If you want to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, you need to study the Catholic faith.

But you still need to be careful about listening to false teachers, Catholic or otherwise.

I know that what is taught in my church is well thought out and appropriate. The topics are never fire and brimstone. We do not have a paid clergy, so the members are called to teach.

My church is conservative but not partisan. It takes stands on moral issues like gambling, marriage and abortion, but we don't picket or demonstrate. The moment you take a stand critics may say you are extreme.

With my teacher, yes I have not doubts, but a different way of seeing.
There are points that I question, but not on the whole or he would not be my teacher!

I will admit that it was a while that I listened before he became my teacher!

I always have doubts about what some teacher says. Only scripture is the ultimate arbiter of faith and practice

please by all means question, that means that you are wanting to learn more, and that is not a bad thing. ask around to others that you know learn more about other religions. I have explored several myself, i have made my choice. Do know that not all questions will be answered, and sometimes mystery is part of the religion, faith if you will. Good luck and do not stop searching

there are always extremists in each religion. why don't you go and do some research on different religions, then you can understand more about God and our true mission on earth. there's only one God but so many descriptions and misunderstandings of Him thru these religions. i hope you will find the true path towards God.
