What is the meaning of 666?

I know its something evil ,but what does it mean.

the bible says that it is the number of 'a man'. that man is mankind and his governments that are being allowed to rule the earth as they prove their inability to solve(get this), the problems that face man.
After the 'time of the nations' is complete, God will bring them all to nothing, and the earth will return to the condition of before Adam and Eve rebelled against God.
The issue of God's sovereignty being settled for all time.

Also if a person takes the mark of the beast they will never be allowed in Heaven. you are saying that Satan is the best. You cannot jokingly take the mark and say i made a mistake. God don't joke about something like that. God's perfect number is 7.

It is first mentioned in the book of revelation but explained in the book of daniel, chapter 7... it is the number of a beast (evil one) in the last days... daniel describes this as a 3 part beast : leopard (greecian empire: egypt, lebanon, syria, turkey) lion ( babylon-iraq) and bear ( medo-persia, Iran) .......the 3 animals were ancient symbols for these 3 groups, and were confirmed by history.

notice there are 3 animals which make up the beast and there are 3 of the same number...(6)..each group will have equal power with the others....6 is the number of man...who was created on the 6th day...the beast who will terrorize the world in the last days as predicted in revelation... is an arab islamic alliance of these nations....so thousands of years ago, the bible predicted islamic terrorism which is what we see today....it is the spirit of the anti-christ...

the writter is saying who the beast is. He will be defined by the number of his name - numerologists attempt to work this out all the time in all manner of sequences. "the beast" is satan, but the body that he imprisons will be human - a real person alive and well, many say he is already alive and well right now, and preparing to give himself over to Satan..... only time will tell

after watching a programme about the omen i looked this up in the bible. in the book of revelations it states that the devils number is 666. so i take that to mean that him and his 'minions' as such will be indified as bearing the number 666. have a read, no matter what your beliefs are its pretty interestin!

why is it evil cause ROMANs know He comes from accross to sea. And they hate that USA England Canada are touted as free countries. And they hate us who defeated the axis powers in ww2. wasn't it said 1/3 of the angels rebelled with Satan of the abyss? Means italy changed sides and joined the allies. The other HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE legions were the Germans and their 2/3 of the angels. This Stevenson appearing IIII I . like has german roots. So Satan wants you to hate HIM cause He is part German and mostly loyal to GOD and His angels not the italians who unleashed hell in gladiator.

it's in my social, but I think it has something to do with the Roman leader Nero, we was a sadistic bad man. Revelations was written during the time of his reign, and was meant to implicate him, not the end days that everyone talks about today.
