I do, in fact sometimes it almost makes me sick to my stomach. I discovered that buying one of those shade glass screens to cover the front of your monitor makes a big difference.
I always had one until I got a 21" monitor, and now I can't find one to fit it. So the dizzy feeling has been a problem again.
Wal-mart may still sell those screens, they were less than $20 if I remember right, and well worth the money.
The only other thing reasonable to do is take a break when you feel a dizzy spell coming on...
Good luck with your problem....

I spend many, many hours at the computer every day. When I was working, it was 8 hours at work and about 5 at home. I have never become dizzy, and blacking out (if you really mean losing consciousness) is a medical emergency.
See a doctor this week, please. It may be nothing, but it may be a Really Big Deal.
This week. Please?
By the way, I know quite a bit about heart failure, and "fatigue, lack of sleep and inhaling the smoke-filled air" DO NOT cause it. The smoke might make it worse, though, and loss of consciousness can be a sign of heart problems. But any loss of consciousness must be investigated, and probably not by an eye doctor.

i think its more likely to happen if you don't get enough sleep at night, then use the computer for long hours.

some guy just fell over and died in a computer cafe in Taipei just this year. Doctors said he died from heart failure, probably as a result of fatigue, lack of sleep and inhaling the smoke-filled air.
when you get dizzy, get off the computer for a while..
Oh i just thought of something else, get your eyes checked.
It could have something to do with it.
