Do you have to have a deep fryer to make funnel cakes at home? Can you use a deep pan and bring it to a boil with the oil and still successfully make a funnel cake?

Don't bring your oil to a boil that would be dangerous..You could use like a fairly deep skillet,it would work well.. I'd use shortening it cooks bread stuff better and won't end up with a greasy taste

Turn heat on around medium and get shortening melted then put a little chunk of bread and if it sizzles and gets to golden brown your heat is at a good level..

Don't boil any oil there hope you well

no you dont need a deep fryer, and yes a deep pan with oil is ok,u have to heat it well though. Did u google it? or try allrecipes.com. Try to find a good recipe and it isnt hard to do so. I have, but mine are greasy a little. There is a mix you can get at the store. Good luck!
