Im planning to join the U.S. army but my parents, well I don't know If they agree or disagree there so complex. Im from the philippines im 21 years old My dad joined the U.S. navy when he was young, me and my family migrated to guam and to califronia when he was at service in the military, finally he retired in 1994 and and my family went back to philippines. now here is my problem when my dad joined the navy their was a recuiting area in subic bay in the philippines a long time ago, but isn't there any more and now I tried going to there GOARMY website and tried to find a recuiter but the range is only from Europe,japan,samoa,korea and guam. Is there any alternatives for me? thats why im trying to find some in the states or here in philippines with a us military background to communicate with and in active duty.

Hey, this I don't know the answer to how you'd join if you're in the Phillippines, but I do have some advice for you. If you join the US Army, you will most likely get deployed right away to either Iraq or Afghanistan....the army deploys for a year and a half at a time, minimum. I would suggest looking into the Navy, Marines, or Air Force over Army, unless you want to deploy for that long. The other services only deploy for 7 months - 1 year at a time.

You may want to start with asking your father. He may determine that at one time in his life,this is where he was. Also he might know someone who may know a recruiter.

Try contacting the US Embassy. They should be able to get you contact with a recruiter.

You will probably have to call the army, and give them your exact location, and they can tell you where you need to go.
