I'm in Australia and don't use oz. Does it stand for ounces? And how do you convert it to grams?

yes oz does stand for ounces,,, heres some help
1/3 ounce= 10 grams
1/2 ounce=15 grams
1 ounce=28.3 grams
4 ounces=114 grams
1 pound=454 grams

1 teaspoon=5 mil
1 tablespoon=15mil
1/4 cup=60 mil
1/2cup=120mil
3/4cup=180mil
1 cup=240 mil

it stands for ounces and can be converted to grams in the following manner: If it doesn't need to be accurate, an ounce is about 30g. To be exact 1 ounce is 28.35g.

Well when Frank Baum was originally telling the story of the Wizard of Oz to neighborhood school children he needed a name for his mythical land. He looked around and saw his filing cabinet labeled A-N and O-Z. There you have the Land of Oz.

But considering you are speaking about cooking and not children's literature then it stands for ounces!!!!

what are you trying to do with ounces? yes it stands for ounces.why would you try to convert a ounce into grams?
