This is very vain but true. I've been a competitive bodybuilder on and off for years. When I am in good shape I seem to take more time picking what I wear, I feel good and enjoy dressing good. When I let my weight skyrocket, I watch my dress code go down, downright pathetic at times. But I don't feel good or look good in my clothes and don't take time to dress nice.

Why not?
Of course, I don't.
Well sometimes.
If I feel like it.
I do have nice clothes you know.
But that is why they are nice.
I don't wear them unless I have to.
If I wear them too much, then, they are not nice anymore.
When they are not nice anymore, then I have to buy more nice clothes to set in the closet until my wife says something like "YOU ARE NOT TAKING ME TO THE MOVIE IN THOSE, PUT NICE CLOTHES ON".
Nice clothes get me out of trouble sometimes.
Nice clothes do add anxiety to life though.
Maybe they should not make nice clothes.

We live in a civilised society. We are way above animals. Even cat licks herself up to look clean. Then why we shouldn't appear clean. We must make ourselves presentable to others. When we meet others our best manners are in parade. We show ourselves to be what we are not. Besides, the characteristics we acquire our generations inherit. If we remain impeccable so our children shall be.

When you go somewhere special, like Church, a movie, or out to dinner at a famous restaurant, you want to look presentable and look your best. It is the way most of our parents taught us to dress for the occasion.

Separates us from the animals. I used to love running into some of the 7th day Adventists I knew (I am not one) they would all be decked out in their jewelery (not allowed by their following) and then go to church Saturday obeying the rules.

Because they worry too much about what other people might say (appearances) or because they are certain of who they are and they want to look their best at all times.

Why wouldn't they. It is an important part of conforming to society. Why would you you buy nice clothing if you only wore them in your own home?

Because if you wear them in, you will wear them out before you wear them out.
