When you ask a question here, it is as speaking to a large crowd.. You will get hecklers, and sensible people..weird opinions, eccentricities, experienced answers, and facts..and expertise..Just as in a large crowd.. It is up to the asker to weed out the answers that don't work, and only pay attention to the ones that matter...MOST answerers are good people, trying to help..

I'm not sure what this really has to do with dogs.
But yes, I have noticed flamers and trolls here. They're not worth anything. And therefor are to be completely, utterly ignored.
I have notice trolls coming up with deliberately stupid or offensive questions too. And if I were their mommas I would yank them away from the keyboards by the ear- for starters. Until they can grow some manners, common sense, and consideration.

Amen to that, brother (or sister). I posted a rant about these kind of people, but Yahoo deleted it... It was kind of like your question but more... colourful. People just have too much time in the day I guess, don't let it get you down. One way you can lessen the chances of a stupid response is to post it in the right category so that people who aren't genuinely interested wont see it.

That's not always true. I have seen a few questions that did not have mean answers. Granted there are not many, but there are some. As for why people give mean answers...I think misery likes company. They are miserable people and they are trying to make you miserable too. Just ignore them.

I know, people can be so mean. I posted my first question the other night, telling them I was living with my boyfriend in a rent house, and i wanted a pet. I was needing help finding a good nice pet...and a few people just replied with, "You should not be living with your boyfriend" or, "divorce is bad with athiests" totally off the question in the first place. It made me feel bad. I know what you mean, and i agree.

Because some people are cruel and opinionated. They think that by giving mean answers it will somehow make them look smart and make them feel better about themselves. Sorry to hear about your dog. I would be devaststed. Ours is like a family member to us.

Because people are assholes and think just because they are behind a computer they don't have to respect people, but in reality if they were face to face with a person they wouldn't dare say anything rude because they know they'd get their asss kicked.

Because they are so absorbed in their own world, that they don't take a second to consider how others may feel.
