Yes, if you stay medicated and force yourself to get out there then yes. You need a change of medication and probably a psychaitrist. I am not the happiest person but also not the most depressed. I'm 23 and have dated enough men, it doesn't really make life that much better but you should have friends.

My boyfriend just turned 32 and it was the first birthday in years that he acually enjoyed. The last year he was hooked on drugs, the year before tried to kill himself, the year before, was miserable. He lost everything to his bipolar and substance abuse problems, valuables, independance, trust, and almost his life. But now he's in school. Things do and can get better because they have for my boyfriend and our relationship. Hang in there and get the right meds, they make all the difference!

Maybe you should take some classes, I don't know if you were in college before but try psychology classes, you will learn a bunch that will help you with your life.

Yes things will get better, but you have to want it to get better. I have been through lot in life, bad relationship, career change, not finish college...you name it. Now i am married back to school finishing up my school...no kids yet but i am planing on that next. The thing is don't ever give up... and read self help books, get massage...you will be happy! Very important advice that i can live you with is that don't hang out with any negative people...if you are dating a negative person get ride of him. If you are not dating 29 is not old take your time enjoy life, you will find that great guy if you take your time.

Try a magnet mattress pad and pillow. They help some folks.
Try pycnogenol or grapreseed extract 100-300 mg daily in divided doses
See Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine for an excellent discussion of ADD, Bipolar disorder, and other mental health issues, including a long section in the first section on good mental health.
Good luck and God bless!

Well, speaking on a health related standard. ADD can be one of those things which some people (not all) can overcome and mature out of. For others, though, they need certain drugs to keep them at, what most people call, the norm. If you don't like the idea of relying on drugs for the rest of your life, or you don't want to wait and see if you mature out of it, then I would advise a treatment which has worked for me, a victim of ADHD (which has effects as ADD and can be fixed similiarly). It's called "biofeedback", and it is basically a brain training program for ADD and ADHD patients. A counselor with a Ph. D basically connects your brain to a computer through a headset and trains you to focus on getting rid of bad brain waves. This can also maybe help the bipolar symptoms. You can read more of this through the website
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biofeedback
and you can actually try to find a biofeedback provider near you through
http://www.eegspectrum.com/Providers/
Also, some call this form of brain training as neurofeedback instead of biofeedback, so don't be shocked if you see it.
If you don't wanna do it, then I'd advise you to look into Methylphenidate (aka ritalin) for the ADD and Lithium for the Bipolar/Manick Depression. But talk to a doctor or psychiatrist before getting the meds (it usually helps to attain drugs legally)

Also, things tend to not get better on thier own; if a person has a dillema, they need to fix it themselves or seek help to fix it.

Why don't you date? I am Bipolar also and things can get pretty rough at times. Maybe you need to get involved in a group called Emotions Anonymous or a Bipolar group that meets once every other week. Being Bipolar is hard I know but if you need help it is there.

This depends on what you consider better. You would benefit by letting the past go, and staying in the moment.

Don't say it's better with a relationship, because when you have a relationship your life gets more challenging and troublesome.

yes it will. things always get better as time goes on. Trying going to counselling. and think about how you can do things that will be more positive towards the person that you want to be. think positive and you will be positive. Like the saying goes, you are what you think to be.

If you keep yourself stabilised on your medications, of course you will have a better life. It is too difficult to have a proper relationship until you are stabilised.

Best wishes.
