Referring to the feiry, eternal torment type of Hell. Seems like overkill to torture somebody through all eternity for disobeying.

sin is its own punishment, because it separates us.

Fr. Richard Rohr, franciscan monk, has said that if there is a Hell, then 3/4 of all people walking around the street are better than God, because who would condemn even their worst enemy to be tortured for ALL ETERNITY? It's unthinkable.

God is giving without end. God is the source of all love. If there is a Hell, it exists in the sinner's heart.

To those who say that if there is a heaven, then there must be a hell: duality is a misconception. An artifact of our finite minds. The truth is not heads or tails. It is the coin. Being in tune with God is that joy that transcends happiness.

Heaven exists so it's opposite has to exist as well. To say " for disobeying" is a huge statement. Where do you draw the line? Should someone like Hitler not be punished for all time for the atrocities he committed? Don't you think paedophiles and other people who abuse and exploit children should be punished forever? Do you think osama bin laden should be flogged and tortured for just an afternoon? People choose how they live and they need to accept consequences. If I commit hellish acts my whole life, I deserve to suffer for the whole after life.

First of all, everyone's born a sinner, but since Jesus died for us, you know you're not going to hell. All u have to do is follow God's commandments, but some people blatantly disobey, even after they have been promised to go to Heaven, so such foolishness deserves to go to hell.

Hell was made for the devil & his angels.

Satan destroys God's creation if he can. He also tries to usurp God's identity. Get people to die early, kill, steal, slander, falsly accuse, etc...

So if you want to go to hell, just be satan's messenger.

Hell exists because Jesus Christ SAID it does....
What reason do you have for calling him a liar?

You can choose to believe a bunch of dumb opinions on these threads or You can believe God's Son....

Your eternal destiny depends on your choice.

It exists simply to scare those into submission. Well, 'exists' in the minds of those who believe in the concept anyway.
