Never said it was a whale, big fish! read the story.
The Nineveh people were very war like and killed outsiders.
Played ball with peoples heads they cut off.
I can see why he was a little hesitant to go tell them God was going to destroy them.
Some say from being in the fish probably a shark he must have been bleached out white. They feared ghosts and demons.
Then walked down the middle of town unafraid saying your going to die. No one but a crazy person or a real angel would do that. They said he must be dead already.
that is why they listened to him. But it wasn't many years later they turned wicked again and god did destroy them.
