uuhm, they bathe and quite frequently. however.... depending ont he country - most don't have the luxury of dry cleaners or washers and dryers in every home. it's not necessarily the person, it's the clothing. at least, this is what i was told when i asked and yes, i did ask. i also didn't notice deodorant soap in my travels.

( however i do have to admit, i did the "sure" sniff at first thinking -- oh my gosh, is that me LOL thankfully it wasn't)

You must hang around weird people. I shower once or twice a day, as do everyone in my family, all my friends and everyone I've ever met.

I met an American girl once who didn't change her knickers for a week - the skank, but I'm not saying all Yanks do that!

Also - I think you'll find Europe has some of the best water sources in the world - Scottish water is about the purest and best tasting in the world compared to the polluted stuff yanks are stuffing down their throats.

And what's the bollox about Europeans not having washers / driers in every house. Of course they do! I've never heard so much rubbish in my life!

Everyone in my family is from Europe, and they bathe once, sometimes twice a day, thank you very much XD

Hell, my sister from Europe bathes about four times a day if I don't kick her out of the shower.

What?
Oh were back 2 that old chestnut.
We don't like the French, Italian, Brits coz they're don't wash at every available opportunity.
U wanna spent hours of UR day in the Shower, fine but some of us have better things 2 do with our time & a wash in the morning/1 at night what more do U need?
If U live in a filthy place, perhaps U need 2 wash more.

Their water is not as clean and it is not as plentiful and it is expensive. And as you state it is also cultural...from the time when wagter was even harer to come by... takes a lot of effort to fill a tub by hand and heat it on a stove... I am oldenough and from a poor enough family to know it was the same in this country very recently for most folks...

ROFL.....LMAO...LOL!!!

It's obviously just the people you meet (maybe the smell attracts you to them or maybe them to you) because it has nothing to do with "Europe", it has to do with the person. I am European, from England actually & I shower atleast once a day as do many other people from Europe.

Just out of curiosity how do you know they only bathe once a week?

PLEASE tell me you didn't actually ask them.

What part of Europe did you go to then? I have a shower ever day. I think your making stereotypes remarks here. Plus I'm European myself

The less you bathe the less you sweat so the less you have too. It's expensive, it's a waste of natural resources, you could be doing other things.
Except when it's hot let your body adapt and save the planet for the long term.
