West Side Story has some beautiful alto solos written for the part of Maria's sister. (Her names eludes me at the moment.)
Oklahoma's "Oh! What a Beautiful Morning."

MM.. try something from Hello Dolly... I think there is a alto part in Carousel, but I think that is earlier.
