John 3:23 "And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there"
Only immersion requires much water.
Matthew 3:16 "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water..."
Acts 8:38 "...they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him."
Only immersion has one going down into and coming up out of the water.
Baptism is also described as a burial. (Romans 6:3-4, Colossians 2:12) Only immersion buries the one being baptized.
The greek word "Baptism" comes from means to dip. It means immerse.

Baptism Defined: Very simply, baptism is a submersion or immersion. The Bible calls it a burial (in water).

I believe in baptism by immersion by one having authority, then baptism by fire/recieving of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands.

We believe the first principles and ordinances of the gospel are first faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, second repentance, third Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins, and fourth the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

the word babtista in the greek means immersion, it was not translated that way for the king James version, because oddly enough, king James had been sprinkled, not immersed, and they did not want to offend the King. That it is not a condition of salvation, it is not a critical issue, but in the greek, it does specifically mean immersion.

Immersion- That is how Jesus was baptized. Why would it be different for anyone else? But not until they are at the proper age of accountability. Don't baptize babies, you need to be able to choose for yourself before you make those very sacred covenants.
