i am sure this is not the case with all the baby boomers but some seem to ignore that they are about to retire and that an America whit out the latin immigrants would not be able to pay any of the benefits they will need so much in the future . latin Americans ( legal and ilegal which need to be legalized ) will keep America being the greatest and the strongest .

I'm very aware of the need for immigrants--and I truly welcome all immigrants to this nation. I don't think that it is the Baby Boomer generation that is at the forefront of the anti-immigration debate. It seems to be more confined to the angrier segments of the younger generations.

Are you serious??? Do you honestly believe that illegal immigrants pay federal taxes that will benefit baby boomers in the future? They don't because most of them will get paid cash since it would be pretty hard for an employer to explain to the IRS how someone in the country illegally is on the payroll. And you can bet an illegal immigrant won't file a 1099 by April 15th each year. They won't pay any state or city taxes either if where they are living has them. About all they will contribute is when they pay a sales tax at the store when they buy something. I am a college educated Hispanic in San Antonio, TX, a predominantly Hispanic town and I work as a caseworker in the social service field. People try to say that illegal immigrants don't receive any benefits that are paid for with federal taxes. That's a lie. An illegal immigrant can get food stamps for their children if the children were born in the U.S., making them U.S. citizens. Here, 5 children may get close to $1000 a month in food stamps. Illegals can also get reduced cost child care if the kids were born in the U.S. and the family meets income eligibility. So, where I live, legal citizens may not qualify for reduced cost daycare and pay $600/month for one infant at a daycare, while an illegal may get their emloyer to write a letter lying about how much they are paid, and that illegal will pay only $100 at a daycare for a child the same age. The rest of the $500 owed to the daycare is paid for by-you guessed it-our federal tax dollars! There are also millions of dollars in unpaid hospital bills due to hospitals having to treat illegals, which will also contribute to the increased cost for the rest of us to receive medical treatment at these same facilities. Now, as a Hispanic, I am for immigration from almost any country, as long as it is done legally. And for the record, I think L.U.L.A.C.(League of United Latin American Citizens) is a big joke does little to nothing for law-abiding Latin American citizens.

Someones on crazy pills today and it's not me. The illegal immigrants, be they from Mexico or China, are a DRAIN on the economy - look at the numbers. I'm sorry but getting paid under the table in no way contributes to social security. Living 12 people to an apartment doesn't contribute to property taxes (which pay for schools, thereby the baby boomers need to pay a higher mill to keep their homes). It's simple math here. Illegals use services but don't be fooled into thinking they pay anything back into the system other than sales and excise taxes. Your comment is naive.

I guess you haven't thought about the fact that these baby boomers who are turning 60 have been WORKING for the last 40 years and contributing towards social security? That little tidbit slip your mind?
I guess you also haven't factored in that these baby boomers have been paying federal taxes for the last 40+ years and are a large source of the funding for the social services these immigrants are so quick to take advantage of - like free health care, just for starters. Guess you forgot THAT little tidbit, too.
Yeah, what a SWEET deal for baby boomers that illegal aliens are using STOLEN social security cards and pretending to be someone so they can work illegally in this country. Why, we should throw them a ticker tape parade.
Let me ask you ask you something - where were these law-breakers when we were fighting World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam so this country could CONTINUE being a free country that LAW BREAKERS could sneak into? Where were they then?
I can't even believe you made such a ridiculous statement that it will be Latinos that keep this country running. Put down the crack pipe for God's sakes.

Only true if they actually pay into social security and do so legally.
I'm sure there are many illegals that work "under the table". Who knows if withholdings for fradulently used ss numbers actually make it to the ss trust fund. If an employer is willing to hire an illegal, who knows if they'll actually withhold what they're supposed to.
I have no issue with immigrants (I am one myself--legal and naturalized citizen). But let's not candy coat the problem and justify our way out of the facts.
Oh, and on your estatistics-- show me proof as I don't belive that for a minute. Many latino illegal immigrants are lower wage earners so they're not paying much in taxes anyway.
And for clarification to readers-- Current Social security bene's are paid out of current contributions. You won't get your own contributions per se, you get what others will be paying into the system when YOU retire.

properly, you should commence making contributions on your 401K so which you dont ought to rely on Social protection once you could not paintings any further. This 401K replaced into purely created interior the Nineteen Eighties and various seniors have no longer something different than Social protection to proceed to exist. This nonsense called Soc. Sec. is an coverage meant to cover you interior the progression of disability, divorce, and death. it rather is not for investment. It is going to pay for young ones survivor reward, spousal reward, and various different circumstances. In cas you dont comprehend, your business enterprise suits your SS contribution and that i'm specific the employers could prefer to no longer pay in the direction of your reward.

Are you for real? My tax dollars pay for these illegals. They come over not to work, but to get on our welfare system which comes from the hard working American's tax dollars. America would do much, MUCH better with these illegal criminals OUT. Guess what? 90% of Americans want our borders closed, and the illegals, and their anchor babies, and their whole families OUT. We'll throw a fit until it's done!!

There may also be many baby boomers moving to mexico to try to stretch out their social security checks as well.
We can't go on blaming the victims, it's government that should get the blame.

are you aware that the baby boomers are paying for the health, education and welfare of the illegal immigrants. if it were not for all the handouts they are getting this country would be in better finical shape. so it would only be fair if they payed back into the country they are such a drain on.
