I've noticed for me sometimes I fumble the keys (hit two at once). I'm usually pretty sure of my spelling so I don't generally use the spell check key.

A lot of people for some reason want to be the FIRST to answer questions, do they type so fast and don't correct mistakes. They are more interested in winning a fictional "race" than knowing how to spell correctly. I don't know...

What are you the 1%? I think your estimation is off. I can spell but you may be the only one answering all misspelled questions. I have ran across bad spellers and good. Depends on the topic and how old they are.

everybody on Yahoo! Answers know how to spell. Slang and words that are shortened take less time to spell. See just to make you happy I didn't use any slang.

because this is a wide enough array of people to represent humans on the whole, and 99% of humans can't spell.
but also, because this is the internet, not class, and nobody cares.
why should i care what you think about my spelling? i dont even know you, and even if i did, i STILL wouldn't care.
a better question:
what makes you think anybody CARES that you know how to spell?

Poor spelling is the result of text and instant messaging, isn't it?
It disgusts me.

I attribute it to their youth and the general degeneration of the English language through "netspeak," text messaging and electronic shorthand.
People are also quite dumb.
