In school, I sit there with my nose running and my eyes watering so much that it blurrs my vision - yet we are not allowed to take pills at school (they are considered "drugs"). What should I do mascara is running down my face as I am typing!! Everyone thinks that I am crying but no one else at my school knows what this feels like! I hate these stupid allergies!! What should I do?

Get yourself a 12 or 24 hour acting allergy pill and take it before you go to school. That will help enormously. Also, stop wearing the mascara if your allergies are acting up. Your mascara might actually be causing some of the eye allergies. I, myself, have a problem with wearing mascara when my allergies act up. It seems to aggravate the problem, so I just don't wear it. As for the allergies, try Claritin, Allegra, or even the off brands from Wal-Mart. They work good for me and I have year round allergies.

I completely know how you feel. I had this problem from the time I was 6 until about 2 yrs ago. It truly makes school hell. You pray for the first frost and wish you could sleep until it came.
Been there done that. If you can get your parent(s) to take you to the doctor and tell them what is happening to you.
Ask what the doc can recommend that won't make you sleepy.
(Ask for what you can use at night for bedtime too)
I can only recommend what my doctor has put me on and it has changed my life and many of my family members are on it now too and it is truly amazing for allergies and sinuses.
Write this down: Singular... you have to take it for about 2 to 3 weeks before allergy season and you cannot skip it. You take it everyday until the first couple of frosts. Then you are done. If you don't get frost ... you can take it everyday. My allergies are so bad that my doc has put me on it everyday all year long. My dad is the same and has been on it for 3 yrs and I have been on it for 2.
If that is out of the question you will need to take 25mg of antihistime up to 4 times a day. This is better known as Benedryl.
You really got to get yourself to the docs and talk to them.
I found that nothing else worked for me... none of the over the counter stuff that costs so much money. It was very frustrating.

Try taking over the counter Claritin before you go to school. If this doesn't work, go to your doc and ask for Zyrtec, Allegra or one of the nasal sprays. Some of these work better than others depending on individual chemistry. Allegra is the only one that works for me.

If you need to take pills at school, you'll probably need to have a prescription and a doctor's note and leave it with the school nurse. Kids with epilepsy, ADD, diabetes, and other illnesses must be taking drugs at your school unless you're at an anti-medicine school. Point is, there's a way to do it. They probably don't want kids bringing in lots of sudafed unregulated and trying to get high off of it. Anyway, you ought to be fine if you take the allergy meds in the morning. My daughter's allergic to literally 25 different things and only takes Zyrtec in the morning. Good luck!

There is a nasal spray out by prescription called Astelin, it has been a lifesaver for me, Talk to your allergist about prescribing it for you. Taking the meds shouldn't be a problem, just take them in the morning before school and because most of the meds are 12 hour pills (some are 24 hour) you won't have to take another on until dinner time.

There are drugs that you can take at home that last for 12 hours. That would get you through the school day. Anything prescribed by your doctor for a medical condition are not considered to be drugs. At least not by intelligent people. We won't even discuss that morons in school who think emergency inhalers for asthmatics need to be locked up. If you take the medication at home the school can't do anything about it. They just don't want anyone taking drugs (street drugs, narcotics, LSD, marijuana, meth, coke, etc) at school so they make up these no exception policies and kids die from preventable things and then their parents sue the schools... It is so stupid. But these people are not in the medical profession and don't know what they are doing or how much damage they are causing kids in school. Try over the counter drugs like: clariton for your allergies.

If you need pills for allergies, all you have to do is have your mom write a letter to the principal , telling him that you have to have them, or you feel sick and miserable and cant even concentrate on your work. They cant stop you, take them before school, then at lunch and before bed. Theyll never even know.

Benedryl is the only one that gives me relief.

Hope you feel better soon. I know its miserable.

Try taking allergy meds the night before. it will also help you sleep! I use benedryl.

Try that for a week, and if it's not working that well, take another dose before you get to school.

Go to your doctor and get a prescription antihistamine like Zyrtec or something close. You only have to take one a day (you can take it before school) and they work really well. Don't suffer through this any longer!

get a 12 hour pill like allegra, it lasts all day and works good.

by the way, I'm sure the teachers at your school would let you take the pills there if they knew how miserable you were.
