I'm sure every branch of the service will have someone claim the are the best. I think it depends on the 'hostile environment' in question. These days the US capital might qualify. The UN always does.

yes because there marines. The marines are the most highly trained elite millitary taskforce in this country. There job is to complete missions labeled as nearly impossible. USMC 4 life

the 101st Airborne Division "Screamin Eagles" with the large amounts of attack helicopters they can decimate almost anything, then theres the soldiers who can be deployed anywhere in the world in a 36 hour timeframe.

You act like they do it all by themselves! The Army does the bulk of the fighting and dying, not the Marines! They never have and they never will!
