The problem is everyone tells me that to get counceling i need to be with my parents and i don't agree with that. Can someone find me a page or a web where it says that i don't need to be with my parents to get help. What do you think about this?

I think you need to give a little more background info so that people can help answer your question ??

If you are 18 years of age then you are old enough to have free choice and say what people are in counceling with you !! But there has to be some kind of reason that people are saying that your family should be with you.

If you have made a decision to have counseling then go for it In the US 18 is quite OK to say I know me and I need.
What you may wish to think about is how you plan to pay for it if your parents do not cover you by insurance if you leave??
In this case seek a metal health professional for help to pay for the needed professional.

Sorry to say this but I have a deep down feeling you are not telling the whole story on this

You do not need your parents to get counseling if you are 18 or over. The only thing is if they are in charge of your insurance, as they will know about it in that case. Also, counseling is expensive, so you might need them monetarily.

Now, if it's a family issue, you may WANT them to be there. There is family counseling for things that involve everyone.

Hope that helped!

If you are 18 years old, then you are a legal adult and no counseling center can require you to have parents. THe only problem is that couseling can be quite expensive. Sometimes that is why is it useful to have parents around who are willing to pay the way. Do what seems right to you.

Don't know of one. Do know the run away routine though. Honestly though if it makes you feel any better (which is what you want) Read Loving what is by Byron Katie. Puts you in prospective without your parents. I don't think you need your parents to be healed besides your parents aren't the one who did it. You are. READ THE BOOK it will all make sense to you then.

If you are 18 or older, you do not need your parents. However, if you still live with them and they are still supporting you then they might have some say in what you do.

No you don't need to be with your parents. Individual counseling is best and if they want to see you with your parents they will suggest that.

Not if you are only seeking help for yourself. If you are seeking help because of the family, they may need to be their. So, go and seek help and see what the person tells you.
