Although all sins separate you from God, there are different degrees of sin. For example, lying to someone is far less impactful of a sin then killing them.
The worst sin and the one that is unforgivable from the mouth of Jesus is blaspheming the Holy Spirit. If you say all your life that God is not God, then you will go to Hell. It's that simple.
However, if at any point, you become saved, then you will no longer believe that the Holy Spirit is not God, and for that you will live with God in Paradise.

Who am I to judge? Murder is pretty bad though, taking the life of someone else. Nothing someone can do can warrant someone else deciding it needs to end.
