Satan is the devil in Islam also. As in the U.S. is the "Great Satan".

There is the same, shaytaan or iblees. Who is lucy? Difference is that he is not a fallen angel since angels dont have the capacity to disobey God, he is one of the jinn. To ms pretty, the mufassireen of the qur'aan dont think that it means that, Muslims uniformly believe that Iblees is a jinn, if you disagree bring proof. Iblees is referred to as not bowing along with the angels, it doesnt say he is an angel. Which muslim thinks he is an angel?

Yes, he's called Iblis (or Shaitan) and he was a genie (singular of "jinn") who tempted Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. It's made explicitly clear, though, that he's the adversary of humanity, not God and that the jinn (like humans) have free will.

A comment on Aissa's reply: In Quran, lucifer (Iblis in Arabic) was refered to among the angels when they were ordered by God to prostrate themselves before Adam.

Normaly,he is called Iblis or the sheitan..that is an arabic term normaly but it is the old same devil...
