Effective in terms of world defense? Lets take a look at what they defend... well... they make resolutions against mean people. Come on the UN is a joke, they do nothing. The best thing that could happen instead of leveling the buildings as one person said, evict them. The UN does not own this land or the buildings they are leased. Kick them out and give the buildings back to N.Y.

the United Nations is about as effective as a traffic cop at a 40 car pileup. He's doing what he can, but most of the damage has already been done.

..but it's a place for good people to come together and think about solutions.
the criticisms are complex and numerous. for example, veto power lies with 5 nations. if nations in power don't agree with the proposed solutions, they can stop it from happening. the structure of the UN isn't exactly according to best business practice. and have you seen the offices in that place, not too cosy.
but i love the UN because it stands for world peace.

Bob desire, an icon of our leisure international, spanning many years of action pictures, television, arise comedy and also a correct wing republican did a commercial years in the past even as there develop right into a large cry to get out of the UN. Paraphrasing what he stated develop into this: there's a marketing campaign to end our involvement contained in the UN even as there perhaps some income to what they say, what we may be able to all agree on is the UN has finished one difficulty, given our international a fashion to communicate with one yet another. what number wars the UN has stopped is anyones guess. by employing disbanding our involvement might want to effect in extra wars and human suffering. Why might want to each person be loopy adequate to be sure if it really is authentic? ======== Our involvement contained in the UN is measured in a pair of money for each individual in our u . s . a .. Are we loopy adequate to be sure if it really is value affective or not? it would want to look really some human beings are fairly that short sighted. Patisanship has plenty to do with that. not less than, one has to understand Bob desire for not buying into each and every of the crap. He develop right into a conservative of values or perhaps as i might want to disagree with him, regardless of the reality that, if he were my chum, i might want to probable evaluate him considered one of my impressive. i will't say that for the fashionable type of conservatism. Nor of leftism. i'm a liberal and happy with it. Peace Jim .

The UN throws a fit if anyone tries to enforce resolutions passed by the UN. How can any organization be effective if they refuse to do anything.

For us, no. For our enemies, yes. We ( The United States ) should get the hell out. If we don't and we continue to abide by their decisions, I fear it could harm us as a nation in the future.
