Husky's are great dogs provided you have the time and energy for them. These dogs need a tremendous amount of exercise - keep in mind they're bred to trot all day pulling a heavy sled. They also are a northern breed which sheds a lot and requires thorough, regular grooming.
$250 seems like a really cheap price for a purebred husky. Please be sure you're buying from a reputable breeder. You might want to make it a condition of sale that the puppy has to pass a health check done by your vet before the sale is final. Also, they're fairly easy going so should get along with your lab if properly introduced.

Huskies are great dogs IF you have a high energy lifestyle.
They love to dig and dig and dig........... they also shed lots and in large clumps........... they need a tremendous amount of exercise and regular grooming to cut down on the shedding. They rarely.... but sometimes do... get along with cats. They have an incredible chase instinct.
However, they are beautiful, loyal, outgoing, friendly and playful!
I would be concerned over 250 bucks. Sounds like someone that bred without having the proper health issues checked like hip and elbow dysplasia, sub aortic stenosis, juvenile cataracts, etc Ask for the Vet checks on the parents and a health certificate for the pup BEFORE you buy it and take it home!
Hope I helped and good luck!

I have had three huskies. They are wonderful dogs, but very energetic and need lots of exercise. They love attention, but have short attention spans. They will run anytime, given the opportunity, so it's important to have a kennel or 6 foot high fence. They're very loyal and friendly in general so give them plenty of affection as well. Generally get along well with other dogs, but they do like to chase smaller animals so if you have cats be careful. If you can make sure you look at both parents and the registration papers.

Excellent dog and will get on with other dogs. Best to have a male/female relationship with any dog pack but Husky dogs are fine.
They make great family pet but are not great guard dogs. Ofcourse you may not want a guard dog.

I have 2 Siberian Huskies. $250 sounds pretty cheap for a pure-bred - almost too cheap in fact. I would definitely check out the papers on the parents of the puppies and check to see if the puppies have been vet-checked. Having said that, please do some research on this breed before buying one. They are great dogs, but they do have certain personality traits that not everyone is willing or capable of dealing with. They can be stubbon in nature, which is why they sometimes end up being abused or are given away by their owners. We got one of our huskies as a stray, and she had been badly abused. The other husky we adopted from our local animal shelter. They need a VERY secure yard - they are known as "escape artists" or "Houdini" because of their ability to escape through the smallest of openings. They also like to dig and chew. My husband had to take down some cable (for our satellite dish) that was mounted outside (our dogs had started to chew on it) and run it through PVC pipe and then re-mount it. They generally get along well with other dogs, but typically do not get along well with cats (my dogs do not like cats at all). They can be somewhat predatory in nature, and may kill small animals, rabbits, squirrels, etc. They shed enormous amounts of fur on a consistent basis, and twice a year they completely shed their coats, sometimes referred to as "blowing their coats". Be prepared for lots of dog hair, because it will be EVERYWHERE. Huskies typically are very family oriented, and will usually want to be right in the middle of whatever is going on with the family. This is definitely true of our two dogs - they are constantly following us around and are always underfoot. They are pack animals, and consider humans part of their pack. Our 2 dogs are great with kids and people of all ages. Both of our dogs are therapy dogs for the elderly and disabled. Huskies require alot of exercise on a consistent basis, so make sure you are up for this. Also, huskies typically do not have a good sense of direction. If they escape from their yard, they will run, and run, and run, and by the time they stop, they have no idea where they are and may not be able to find their way back home. And speaking of home, my two dogs are absolutely worthless as watchdogs (they love everyone), so don't count on them to watch much of anything unless it's their food dish, or maybe your hand for a treat. One of our dogs will bark if someone walks by our house, but if it came right down to it (and especially if they had a doggie treat), she would probably let someone in the yard without much protest. Even with all of these personality traits, we love our dogs dearly and they are spoiled rotton. But they are not a breed for everyone. Sooooo, please do some research on this breed before making a final decision to buy one. Best of luck to you.

Read up on the character traits of the Husky breed first and decide for yourself. Compare it to you and your labs personality and see if its a fit.

Yes they are very good dogs and great with people. But make sure that you get all of thier shots because they get sick really easy just like a begal. I have had both and they were great pets. But i have seen also that they are both very tairatrola and good gard dogs.
