Religion is like a chain which began with Adam and ended with Muhammad, and between those tow came alot of prophets (Noah, Muses, Jacob, David...etc)
in order 2 be o the right path one should follow the last prophet.
By the way all prophets called to worship one God only.
So the right path 2 pursue is Islam indeed.

Those who lived prior to Jesus coming to earth, especially under the Jewish law, looked forward in faith through the law and prophets which pointed toward the future coming of a suffering servant in some prophetic passages, and a kingly Messiah in others. Those who lived before the giving of the law fall into a special category.
As now it is by grace through FAITH in what Jesus did on the cross, for those from the giving of the law until the first advent of the Messiah it was by the law through FAITH in what Jesus was going to come and do. Those who lived prior to the giving of the law had no law nor grace, and therefore it was necessary for Jesus to descend into hell and preach to those souls, so that through FAITH in the gospel message they could also have the opportunity of everlasting life.
You see, they did have a Messiah and access to God, and as for not having a Bible; well that is a deep subject and best left for another time.
Suffice it to say that Jesus, the Messiah, and many of the truths of The Bible can be found in most other religions and sacred writings. How else do you figure the magi learned of the coming of a Saviour and journeyed far from the East to search out where He was to be born?

There were righteous people on the earth before Jesus came to earth, and I believe that because Jesus hadn't come yet, those who loved God went to heaven.
I'm no theologian, but here's what I think. If Jesus hadn't come to earth when he did, there wouldn't have been so many people around the world who know about God, because back then, the Jewish people did not believe in associating with non Jews, from what I understand.
I'm sure there is more that can be said about that, but I don't fully understand everything on that subject - still learning. I'd like to know more about it though. It was a good question.

They had access to God (Psalms 83:18) and since Jesus was the first to go to heaven, that means that all those who died before that are still sleeping in death and are awaiting a resurrection back to life here on earth. This resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous will occur after Armegeddon.
The people in Bible times did have inspired writings, the first writer being Moses. Jesus often quoted those Scriptures during his ministry.

Jesus gives us his word to answer all our questions.
1Cor.15:22 As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
John 17:3,5,24 Jesus was with God before the world was. It all went wrong for a certain amount of time for the world from Eden, then all is saved back to the perfection it was, and was meant to be. So the world is from Eden. Earth existed before, it was a focus being prepared for habitation for thousands of years as in it is the proof, it existed before that as did all else possible billions in time. Job 38:4-7; Angels saw earth become the focus for habitation, Luke 20:34-36l Angels do not die. Rev.20:1-6; Jesus has 1000 years to make all perfect Rev.21:1-5 as it was.

Read the Old Testament. They had to live strictly by the Jewish law. If they did they went to Heaven. Then when Jesus died He spent 3 days in Hell and preached to the people there and the ones who believed He took them to Heaven.

Since the predominant religions of the times were either pagan or Jewish, then if they followed the tenets of their beliefs then they went to where ever those who are rewarded go. Jesus was jewish not Christian. So it made no difference. Christianity only got a kickstart 2 centuries after his death.

They hoped in God to provide salvation in the future and their faith was considered righteous by God. Just like we believe in Jesus who came 2000 yrs ago they believed in the God their Savior to come in the future. Jesus's redemption transcends time.

It's plausible that the effects of Christ's sacrifice went forward in time as well as backward in time.
That or it was just God's chosen people until Christ died and was Resurrected.. I can't honestly tell ya.
