It seems like you want to quit. I am biased for "clean air" (non-smoking). If your love for each other is strong, it seems like you two could meet half way? You not smoke on dates with her, she trys to understand your craving and gives you her psych and emotional support. If she sees you serious about trying to break the habit, that should be enuf for her. (BTW, you have MY cyber support>)

That doesnt make sense....'she wont have a future'.? While smoking is a bad habit it is very shallow of her if she considers you have nothing else to offer? Some people just draw the line.
She's one of them. If you want to quit...cold turkey is best. Or dont smoke in front her and when she compliments you on how nice you taste and smell...maybe it'll give you incentive to quit?

Well, it's difficult to decide who's right, but I'm sort of with your girlfriend. She doesn't want to be seen with a smoker and that's that, so, you either give up (try your darn best!) or lose something good.

Quitting smoking is gonna benefit you in three ways, though:

1) You won't have to buy cigarattes
2) You're going to be heathier
3) Your girlfriend will stay with you

As opposed to:

1) Waste cash
2) Die young
3) Lose out on a relationship

It's hard, I know, but you have to be willing and determined. Good luck!

Yes...she has a right to choose what she enhales. And it makes the cloths stink and all the property is lessoned in value because of the smoke film. And, why get with someone who has a shorter life span because of a self-destructive habit. Bye the way, I smoke and I hate it. Go figure...once you start, it seems like the hardest thing to quit that I've ever seen. God help us all.

Health is not insignificant. Smoking can lead to death. I'm sure she wants a future with someone who will be around long enough to have one.

Well, if you consider your health, her health, and the health of your future children insignificant, I guess she is shallow. I'm not sure why you're still together if it's so important to her though. Try the patch, if she is worth it to you. Good luck--if you are successful she'll be eternally grateful!

what she means by not having future is you're probably going to die from lung cancer or something. she cares about your health. and as your girlfriend, she has the right to be concerned for your health. listen to her. there are a lot of ways to quit smoking (patches, gums, whatever....).
