Coniosis is a general term for lung disease caused by inhalation of particulate matter. I used to joke about teachers' getting "white lung disease"; that may not be so much of a joke, oops.

Silicovolcanoconiosis is black lung disease.

Pneumo- means lung, ultra- means beyond, micro- means small (as, microscope; I'm not sure about "micropic" specifically).

Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary is an excellent resource. Also, you might consult your local college bookstore regarding flash cards for medical word roots so you can slap together your own convoluted medical terms (e.g., hyelophototropocatagelophobia):

hyelo- or hyalo-: glass;
photo-: light;
tropo-: turn;
catagelo-: ridicule;
-phobia: fear of.

So, hyelophototropocatagelophobia is the fear of becoming the subject of a light-bulb joke (i.e., "how many ___ does it take to change a light bulb?").

pneumo - having to do with lungs
ultramicropic - very tiny
silicovolca.... didn't finish printing out the whole word, so not sure, but I am wondering if this is a respiratory infection or syndrome relating to volcanic ash inhalation?
