I have 30mins waiting for someone to answer in my university Financial Aid office-Should I hang up or wait for about another hour until they answer

We live in a world where you never get to talk to real people anymore and I understand that frustration. Voice messages drive me insane that is why I live in a small community. Cities are the absolute worst for this. Five minutes - tops - then hang up.

That's ridiculous, but assuming you need financial aid, you may not have much of a choice. I would document the amount of time spent on hold and would send it to whomever is responsible for Enrollment Management at your university. They have to know that incidents like this can cause problems when it comes to accessing and retaining students.

After two minutes you can assume they have decided not to bother. Call again, and sound as if you have not called already.
