I don't know if any of the answers given thus far are right. I can tell you this. I had a roommate in the service from New Mexico, which I shall never forget; him or his feet. Without a doubt, his were the stinkest I have ever run across, bar none.

He even agreed. He bathe daily and washed his feet several times a day, ..used powder and sprayed his boots with deodorant. After he went to sleep, we use to grab his boots and set them outside in the hallway before going to bed, and then close the door. VERY UGLY!! The man had a bad case of feet stink.

On a scale of one to ten. His was a 30. Most people that have foot stink hover around the 3 - 5 area. A little daily washing - thoroughly between the toes, AND DRYING same before puttting on those socks - 100 % Wool or 100% cotton, and you should be in pretty good shape.

Bacteria that grows in the sweat is what smells bad. Keep feet dry and clean. Wear cotton socks (sweat evaporates easier) and powder your shoes.
