I think what he's asking is what ranks are assigned to what job (duty position) ... its that way in most specialties (by Military Table of Organization and Equipment (MTOE)) ... (ie Tankers... you don't put a bunch of PV1s on a Tank) 4 man crew: Driver E-1 to E-4, Loader E-3 to E-4, Gunner: senior E-4 or E-5 Tank Commander E-6 (wingman tank) E-7 (Platoon Sergeants Tank) or 1LT or 2LT (Platoon Leader) ) there are some situtations where you might have an E-5 Tank Commander, but it's rare...

If you wanna know who pulls the string on the cannon or loads it or preps the rounds ( I have no Idea what those positions are called) you would have to ask a 13B....

Just like any other rank in the Army:

E1 = Private
E2 = Private 2
E3 = Private First Class
E4 = Specialist/Corporal
E5 = Sergeant
E6 = Staff Sergeant
E7 = Sergeant First Class
E8 = Master Sergeant/First Sergeant
E9 = Sergeant Major/Command Sergeant Major/Sergeant Major of the Army

Different Military fields within the same Branch of service DO NOT have different rank structures.
