Everyone's answer is fantastic.

Here is my two cents:

For some people (ex. Diabetics), even natural sugars can be too much. For the rest of us, natural sugars are good.

Like everyone here says, stay away from anything containing HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. You want to avoid all processed sugars because they are empty calories. You want your calories to be rich in fiber & vitamins or protein. However, high fructose corn syrup is worse than the average processed sugar: it's the big no-no. THere are current theories that high fructose corn syrup might be the reason for America's current obesity rates. These therories seem pretty convincing.

When you think of fruit, you are thinking of apple and oranges...etc. Keep in mind a fruit is anything with a seed: including tomatos , avacado, squash, cucumber, bell papper...etc.

Don't worry about the sugar in your fruit. You want to Aim for 5-9 servings of fruits/vegtibles a day. You want half of those sevings to be green. Go ahead and eat an apple a day; heck, eat more than one apple a day. They are a very healthy food.

Well, I know they are talking about both. Even though sugar from fruits is natural, it converts also in 'calories' so, it would be wise not to eliminate the intake but to reduce it.

Two portions of fruit a day is enough (that's what a nutritionist told my husband) but it might depend on each persons' needs.
You can have the fruit as morning and afternoon snacks.

Of course it's not as bad as processed but it will convert the same. Ask your doctor

They mean processed sugars and the big baddy-high fructose corn syrup. In addition watch your intake of refined flour products like bread and pasta. These also raise your blood sugar level and inhibit weight loss. Eating fruit in moderation is fine, and when you go for veggies try to stick with the green ones, they also have less calories and sugars in them. Read labels and become aware of the products that are full of corn syrup and hydrogenated oils. These will not only make you fat, but they will create health problems for you down the line. What you will find out is that there are not that many healthy products to choose from. The advertising is usually misleading, so rotate the jar to the ingredient list and red flag the products that contain the elements I have mentioned. Eat right and walk!

When we say sugars we mean candy bars, cakes, and things like this which have all the processed sugars. Eat all the fruits you want, these are natural sugars and our bodies process them very well. I have a friend who is a dietitian at the hospital and has to constantly council people how to eat. She says they've never lost anyone due to too many fruits and veggies. Go for it!

No... have as much fruit as you want as natural sugar is quickly used up. Have 5 portions of fruit everyday. Avoid processed sugars as these will make you fat. Hope I helped.

stay away from processed sugars... basically if the ingredients list things that end in "ose" like high fructose corn syrup... avoid it.

natural sugars are great for you... an apple will give your more energy than a cup of coffee and it'll last longer too.

good luck
