No I do not think that Illegal Drugs should be made legal in this country. I am for the support of tougher drug laws and stiffer sentences on drug pushers, smugglers and growers. Marijuana although many think is harmless is more potent than it was a decade ago. "Marijuana contains more than 400 chemicals, including most of the harmful substances found in tobacco smoke. Smoking one marijuana cigarette deposits about four times more tar into the lungs than a filtered tobacco cigarette." So with our worries about high cancer deaths and the rise in Health Cost I don't believe legalizing dope, is going to help anyone except for those that don't like the fact that they have to obtain this and other drugs illegally. There are many more reasons that I am against the legalization of the stepping stone drug called "pot". But the long term effect this would have on our already rising health care costs would be astronomical. Anyway, I have provided a link for you that list the dangers of legalizing Marijuana.

Pot is the only drug I can see that happening with and I am for this. Its side-effects are low, and can be compared to cigarettes. Government could sell it cheap even with a large tax on it and this would create billions for legit programs or it will just go into the vaccum like alot of our tax money. I can get weed anytime I want and I always have many kinds to choose from, and if the government made it legal the government would be my new dealer along with 99% of everyone else that smokes. The real question is, why is pot illegal? And at the same time Hemp could be used as the new material in clothing and other products, this smells very political to me and is a shame this country cannot tell the truth about this subject.

No.
Pharmacies all over the country now dispense legal drugs that are prescribed by licensed physicians. Such drugs are necessary for the health of patients.

Illegal drugs are drugs that are not necessary [ except in very special cases] for health but instead produce an unstable and detrimental condition in the person who uses the drugs.Such drugs should not be readily available to the general public since the weak members of society will gravitate to them and cause the user to react harmfully.

I think marijuana maybe even cocaine *NOT CRACK* should be legal.
Look at Amsterdam's crime rate..everyones 2 high to cause problems.

but people there are ****** stupid..lol..No offense..

But I think drugs like weed should be treated like alcohol.

You can smoke it privately or a place like a bar, But you shouldn't be able to drive on it etc.

like alcohol.

BUT TO THE ONE THAT SAID DRUGS ARE ILLEGAL BECAUSE IT CAUSES POOR JUDGMENT.

That's wrong.

Marijuana is illegal because the Govt cant tax it.

Back in the days everything was made from cannabis

from clothing.paper ,food, teas all kinds of stuff

but weed grows easily..u cant tax what grows wild in Ur backyard

if we used cannabis again it would help the world..less trees will be cut down n all that ****..i got a link I'll submit later

No,no,no,never.
Oh, wait ...you said DRUGS-not illegal outlaw aliens- Yes,yes, yes! But only the ones so popular that there is a whole illegal industry supplying them to an eager lot of consumers at inflated prices and fostering a whole lot of sales personnel we call criminals. Amnesty for the drugs in question...not aliens.

all of them should be legal. They should be controlled by the governement so the country can make a profit from all the drugs they sell.

It should be a prescribed drug, just like narcotic pain killers. Violent crime would decrease, and the money from the sales would booster the economy.

I and my husband fully feel that marijuana should be made legal, in moderation it is no more harmful than the occasional social drink and it has many PROVEN medical uses, not to mention that unlike cigarettes, it can CURE cancer rather than give you cancer. But until the government finds a way to make a huge profit while still controlling it, it won't be made legal.
