If you are paying rent to a property management company then it should be going on your credit report. However if you are paying to a private renter then chances are that they don't report to a credit bureau.

Amanda H is correct.

Generally, loans and credit card debts are reported. Bills such as utilities and rent are not reported unless they have gone to collections.

You can always try though....send whatever records of payments you have, including a contact person for the rental office. If the CRA wants to report it, they will verify the information and ad it to your history.

You'd have to ask if the rental company/apartment complex is willing to report it.

Generally rent is never on Credit reports. They aren't required to put it on there. Good luck.
