Have we lost Iraq?

Bush says "We will Endure" and "We will win". Nixon said the same thing about Vietnam back in 1969. We lost Vietnam on 30th April 75. When will we lose Iraq?

We will never accept defeat. It is hard to be a member of the Armed forces, such as I, and see other people think we have lost the War, or will lose it.

You may say that this war is stupid and never should have happened, but is that what you were saying when the planes hit the towers? Hell no you didn't. You wanted to see somebody pay. You entrusted our government to make those decisions for you whether you voted or not.

The fact of the matter is that nobody thought about the long term effects. We may be losing some battles, but with a government basically established, billions of dollars in renovations, and lives saved just by establishing sanitary facitlities and introducing new medicine into the country...that to me is victory. I look beyond the traditional war, and look at now, the wars of the future. Those who think winning and losing is only through pure domination have one tracked minds. We have lost almost 3,000 Soldiers this war. That is a lot, 1 is a lot. Do a little research a see how many people were lost is previous wars, I will guarantee you it is less (other than Desert Storm).

Our nations decisions past, present, and future dictate the freedoms that all US citizens share. In one way or another, it has. This includes the right to say we lost the war. Isn't that strange? The Soldiers that you talk about losing the war are the same that give you the right to talk about such nonsense.

So...since we are losing the war, i guess our rights aren't guaranteed forever, so go ahead and express yourself...for now while you can, I'll continue to fight for that.

You did not lose Vietnam- your Congress Dems handed it to the commies just to spite Nixon. Pretty much the same as they are trying to do now.
When the US abandoned the South Viets, they left there an army strong enough to defeat a massive North Vietnamese invasion a year later- and FYI that was regular NVA army and tanks, not the VC irregulars (those had been just about wiped out in the Tet offensive). Your congress then cut off all aid to RVN, while the russians and the chinese poured tanks, guns and "advisors" by the ton (as they had done during all the war). Once RVN ran out of ammo- that was it. The result was some 5 milion slaughtered people- all real or imagined enemies of "good uncle Ho"- and that's not counting Cambodia.
Can you lose Iraq? Sure. Have to try real hard though. But I have no doubt that a Dem president- someone like Carter- could still make a humiliating disaster out of a certain victory

You can't loose Irak, because Irak was never yours in the first place. Wether you willooose there, seems more likely to be yes than no, is just a matter of time, and lhe new administration call the boys back, just like in vietnam.

GTo ahead, qualify me with thumbs down if you want, I don't care, but truth must be said: this war was stupid from the beginning and has amde the US porrer, and has caused the world image of the US to get worst everyday. I opposed this war from the beginning because it was not saddam the one Bush had to go against, it was again Bin Laden, and he is still at large. Hussein was no inmediate threat but they invented the lie of saddam possessing nuclear weapons as an excuse to to get in, with the opposition of the UN, the US basically told the world to Fword up.

USA lost the moment it invaded a country whose people have never done anything to USA. USA bombed the hell out of Iraq, distroyed city after city, open the door for anyone to come in and kill, killed 120,000 Iraqi civilians. Now trillions of dollers of hard earned American dollers are being used like dirt to rebuild Iraq. In the meantime young USA boys and innocent Iraqi women and children are dying everyday. The good right wing Christians are O.K. with the killing as long as abortions are not being performed. Oh! and if you speak out against the killing you are labled unpatriotic!

If we could trow you losers out of the u . s . and then boost the protection rigidity to the place that is going to likely be, then take off the gloves it would be over in approximately 6 months.

u know... we never really lost vietnam... it wasnt really a war... cough cough... Iraq was never ours to take to begin with and all our trying to take it has caused Iran to become the predominant power in the middle east. Saddam was a puss¥ cat in comparison to whats coming and I would wager America will lose more than the middle east and Iraq to these upcoming situations...

My mother said that about my brother too during his wild years & we endured & won. He has a lovely family & it is a great citizen. We will endure in Iraq & win the war despite the nay sayers.

God people are stupid..

We already won the war..We took down Saddam and liberated Iraq..Now its just an occupation, lending military support to Iraqis until they complete their military training and can stand alone..(Its half way done)
