We always tend to look at the negative. I work on focusing on the positive especially when I'm negative. I don't have much yet everything I NEED is at my disposal. I do a gratitude list in my head...my children are in good health, I am in good health, I have somewhere to call home, I have food, I have another day...God did not make any junk so I am special and he's not going to abandon me..this too shall pass...tomorrow is another day

You sound to me like you may be Bipolar. I am and when i am down nothing ever looks bright, sometimes I feel as if the sky is caving in. When I am on a high I feel ecstatic. Nothing can go wrong with me. When i am on my meds which is always everything pretty much goes on a nice even smooth pattern. I still have my bad days but if I were you I would see a Psychiatrist or Therapist just to rule it out.

i think you should look at why is the reason, i might be so negative. if you figure the reason out, then maybe a step at a time, you can curb what you re negativity , as it prevents happiness, and good health. do you have fears that you deny instead of finding a better way to deal with them.can you find someone to talk to, being negative most of the time, people will not want to hang with you......

Life is always a choice. You can choose to, and habituate yourself, to always make negative harmful choices, or you can make an effort to do the opposite. People who choose the latter route are usually happier and healthier than their pessimist comrades.
See Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine for a good chapter on how to train yourself to be more optimistic and upbeat. Any effort towards this goal will pay you big rewards.
Good luck and God bless!

depends on what you're talking about or even your situation. sometimes it benefits to look at the negative side of things to be prepared. e.g. being prepared for worst case scenario on a hunting trip. however, if that's all you see in life, you're probably suffering from depression. or if you're not depressed but still look at the negative side of life, you're just a pessimist which can b depressing and tiresome for the people hanging around you.

it's naturally built into some people's mind to focus on negative things . . . maybe because a lot of negative things have happened in your past and you're to the point where you don't expect anything good to happen . . . it's a mental thing that you have to break yourself from . . .

It's your way of thinking.Sometimes you put yourself in that mode and it's hard to change your way of thinking
Change you environment ,maybe your friends.Volunteer, with origination's that are there to help others.Once you see how bad other things are,you want be thinking to much about it.Positive reinforcement ,make negative thought look trivial.

Because when you were younger, all that was communicated to you was negativity and that negativtiy shifted your identity to only accept the negative more than the positive.
