"Faith. There are no atheist in fox holes. Man created Gods because he did not want to die and will kill anyone who believes in a different God or even the same God if you worship in a different way. "
i guarantee you i would be most atheistic in a foxhole, at the worst points in my life i cursed god, on the slim possiblity he exists. in a foxhole i'd fire an RPG into the air and hope it hits him. assuming god exists, he's history's biggest a hole. innocent people and animals are enduring terrible pain right now and what is your benevolent god doing? nothing. not a f***ing thing.

Agreed. Why do people believe in god, where there is no earthly evidence to prove it exists. (I mean how do we know its a he?). Are leprechauns real? what about medusa? NO! They whole group of them (god included) is a sham.

We are intelligent observers, therefore the universe must be structured in such a way as to produce intelligent observers. But the universe is at least ten billion orders of magnitude (a factor of 1010,000,000,000 times) too small or too young to permit life to be assembled by random processes.

So, it has an intellligent designer. His name is God.

Oh, there is more evidence than you would care to admitt. Belief or non-belief has alot to do with our pre-conceived bias. Although I have many problems with traditional Christianity, I do believe the bible when it says that the universe declares (shouts, points to) the existence of God. Do not rule God out of your thinking. Look into the works of men/women who have struggled with faith, read what they have to say, Determine for yourself. a good book(if you are the scientific kind) is Lee Stroball's "The Case for a Creator". C. S. Lewis also has written on this subject.

1. absense of evidence is not evidence of absense

2. is there any evidence at all proving the unexistence of God?
i mean, you can direct me to godisimaginary, or books, but all they can do is put religion under fire. a prayer being unanswered doesnt prove there is not God, it just could prove, at the most, religion is off base.

3. the fact that every ancient civilization, no matter location on earth, had some notion of an omnicient creator, an all powerful God, is quite interesting. civilizations didnt share language, religious practices, science, math, arcitecture, or military tactics. but they all shared the notion of a God

What are you talking about?!!!! There is evidence that God exists. You are hurting deep down inside, that's why you are saying this. Look around you, trees, water, lakes, rivers, grass, humans, all of this didn't come from nothing. Something can't come from nothing. God created all of this. God is real!!! I know I and other believers in Christ have experienced this. God has answered many prayer requests and has worked miracles in my life. Once you pray to make Jesus Christ Lord and Savior of your life and grow in your relationship with Him, then you will know and experience that God is 100% real and you will then experience God's love and plan for your life.

There's a book called "Evidence that Requires a Verdict" that was written by an attorney trying to prove Christ never existed.
There are also a few books and website by Lee Strobel. The case for a Creator. He was an atheist & investigative journalist that went to prove to his wife that Christ never existed...
How can you even say there isn't any evidence.

i've got little need for any considered God that treats something approximately human beings as one-length-suits-all. a number of my fellow Christians do handle this question that way. yet i've got faith it quite is their questioning, not God's. And so is the purported magnitude of accepting the information: Believing in God is a call for for following particular non secular leaders, not a call for for salvation. And believing in those leaders is one in all the excellent obstacles to believing in God, via fact they're interior the corporation of attempting to make others think of those ideals are the comparable. Salvation does not consist in knuckling decrease than to the demands of non secular leaders. Even Christian ones. if reality be told, following and imitating Christ, in accordance to the Gospels, ability being waiting to tear those leaders a sparkling one while they impose such demands.

there is little to evidence that supports evolution either.

I feel God in my heart and unless u are a christian u will never know
u get down on your knees and pray and God will reveal Him self to u.

The bible i suppose is just a book written by man right?

well lets do a bible versus evolution

bible was written by man
the bible was written about 2000 years ago
the bible predicts things that has happened and will happen
the men who wrote the bible had to be very smart especially if u claim that there isn't a God

evolution
evidently from the start of evolution until now we have grown dumber than ever because i don't see any1 else writing books about things that will happen and having it actually happen

not to mention ppl goes to school to really understand the bible in its entirety
so how dumb has evolution made us.
it doesn't make anysense to me that evolution would make us very smart and go down hill from there.
u tell me

If I showed you a sculpture of the Eiffel tower made of toothpicks and glue and told you I found it already made so therefore it had no creator, would you think I was a nut? The universe, nature, our bodies are infinitely more intricate than a sculpture made out of toothpicks. It takes more faith to not believe in God.

It's called faith, the evidence of things not seen. Some people don't need proof. Some people are envious of them, but could never admit it to themselves - they're too weak. What advantage does a brilliant atheist have over a simple minder believer, other than intellectual snobbery?
