thanks but... how do the supermarkets know when packaging them?

Hold it up to a strong light if you are not sure, but a very large grape means it has a seed. If you accidently buy seeded grapes it is actually very easy to de seed them, simply pull them from the stem and push your thumb into the small hole where it was to split the grape in two and then you just push the seed out into a bowl or something.
I love grapes and find the black ones with seeds taste a little better, after a little practice you can do it one handed with your eyes shut

buy the ones under the 'SEEDLESS' sign in the supermarket is a good bet. Failing this ask the market trader or if you are stuck with grapes which you have came upon without purchase then hold them up in front of the sun or a bright light and you can see the silhouette of the seed.

eat some of the other ones on the same bunch first, if they're seedless, than you can bet your grape is too

cos they've got these substances which melt away the grapes! or to add the pips in they inject some fungi so they grow into a blob.

it should say on the bag. larger grapes usually have seeds.
