I assume you read my answer to your question yesterday concerning the 12 tribes. Once you understand where they come from, who they come from, you must next understand their relevant purpose.
God set apart a special race of people when he created the nation of Israel from the loins of Abraham. Their very conception was the fulfillment of a promise to God's friend Abraham. God told Abraham that he would make him a "father of many nations," and that through him all the nations of the earth would be blessed.
It is part of the larger discussion that mankind turned his back on his loving Creator in the garden of Eden, and because of this he needed a savior. God chose the nation of Israel to deliver His Holy Word to the nations of the earth. All of the writings contained in the Bible came from men that were devout and that were yielded to God's work in their lives. The Bible is an ancient Jewish text. We tend to forget that somehow, just because it was translated into english.
Just as God promised many, many times through the holy prophets (hundreds and even thousands of years prior to their fulfillment) He sent His Son Jesus Christ to be a Messiah, or deliverer. God used the lineage of Israel to bring His Son into the world. Jesus was and is Jewish according to His physical genealogy. So through the Children of Israel, God brought to all mankind the promised Savior, and the holy writings that tell about Him.
One more thing. God has given us prophesies concerning the near future (these are often referred to as the "end times" or the "last days") and He uses Israel as a "marker" so to speak, so that we can tell where we are in the sequence of events. Part of the end time prophesies have already been fulfilled. God said that He would disperse the chosen people throughout all the nations of the earth, and then eventually bring them back into their promised land before the end comes.
Well guess what, they have finally returned to the land of Israel, the land that God promised them 4000 years ago. They have been returning there over the last 60 years or so, and have been coming out of every nation on earth to do it.
You would probably know it if you were Jewish. Most Jewish people keep close tabs on their lineage, even though they have not been in their home land for nearly 2000 years.

The twelve tribes of Israel are not any particular country or race. Some might assert they are the Jews, and yet the term Jew refers to only one of the tribes of Israel. Some scholars claim that the other eleven tribes became the American Indians, and some claim that the Mormon church are the lost tribes.
Historically, the northern kingdom of Israel was carried away into captivity into Assyria in fulfillment of prophecies from Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28, and they basically disappeared from the scene as a distinct people.
The southern tribe of Judah was carried away into captivity into Babylon in fulfillment of those same prophecies, yet some were allowed to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple and the city. Some, instead of going to Babylon, went to Alexandria, Egypt where a substantial Jewish community flourished.
Historically, those who descended from Levi, and would have been the Levites, responsible for caring for and working in the temple, as well as the priests, maintained their genealogies. Maybe it is proper therefore, to assume that all the tribes also maintained such records.

An Israelite is a member of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, descended from the twelve sons of the Biblical patriarch Jacob who was renamed Israel by God in the book of Genesis, 32:28. The Israelites were a group of Hebrews, as described in the Hebrew Bible. There are modern historical debates about the origins of the Hebrews/Israelites.

Regardless, the book of Revelation lists the 12 tribes being in the tribulation period. Though they are scattered around the globe, God knows exactly where they are. There is speculation that because of Satan's hatred, the descendants of Abraham include the Celtic peoples. (Read that England, USA, et al.)
Look at the appearance of Jews in Israel today. Now, where do you see similar looking people in the world? That's kinda what I'm alluding to.

I should say spread out accross the face of this earth. I don't know how you would tell, apparently they had different names for different races than what we do now. Also, I imagine that a lot of the 12 tribes have interbred with each other. Are you wondering about the 144,000 from each tribe that it talks about in Revelations? I don't think anybody knows but God Jehova. No, I am not a Jehovas witness, but Gods name is Jehova, I had a Jehovas witness point it out to me one time and I read it and found it when God was talking to moses on the mount, Moses asked him his name 3 times, the 3rd time he replied, I am Jehova, it's in any King James Version of the Bible.

DNA of many of today's Jews can be traced to a common ancestor (Aaron?). At one time, the land of Israel was divided into two parts -- Israel and Judah. When the Assyrians conquored Israel, the Israelites scattered among nearby peoples and into the land of Judah. DNA tests are locating Jews from all over the world whose DNA can be traced to that common ancestor.
Judaism is not a race. Jews have lived all over the world for 2,000 years and have assimilated into many cultures. You too can be a member of the "tribe" by converting to Judaism. If you are male, you must be circumcized, and you must agree to certain obligations to God and to follow more than 200 commandments.

Unless you are Jewish, it is unlikely that you are . The records were burned when the temple was burned in the early years after Christ. All you can do now is speculate.
If you can find a very learned Rabbi, friendly one, you may be able to get him to talk. But unless your willing to go through being initiated as a proselite, your at a standstill.
However there is a website where with a lot of research you can get good answers.
