I have naturally curly hair and it usually looks pretty good when I use mousse and let it air dry. But it takes so long to dry (usually at least 2 hours) that it doesn't work with my schedule. I don't want to go out with wet hair, nor do I want to get up early and sit around until it dries. Blow drying it, even with a diffuzer, makes it look awful. Any suggestions?

Maybe I don't know how to properly use a diffuser. Can you explain it to me?

Are you sure using a diffuser makes it look bad??Try using heat activated curl gel and use a diffuser. set your blow drier on low heat and air settings, and put a section of hair "on top of" the diffuser. Scrunch your curls. Use antifrizz products also.

oh!! or just wash your hair the night before and use some cream product to activate curl in the morning.

I feel your pain... I have curly hair down to the middle of my back and sometimes it takes over 5 hours to dry completely. One thing I do is shower at night, loosely braid my hair and sleep on it. In the morning, I take out the braid (which in my case, will still be damp), smooth a little more gel over the frizzies and scrunch up the curls. Or for the best results, I just get up earlier and let it dry naturally. As far as diffusers go, I never met one I liked. Think about it, any time your hair gets blown on (especially hot air) it's gonna look crazy, right? Sunshine is the best blow dryer around.

The key to good looking hair is products. With the right products, you can control you frizz from blow drying. When you use a diffuser, pick up a piece of your hair and sit it in the nozzles of the diffuser. Whatever you do, dont shake your hair around, thats a sure fire way to let that frizz come out.

take a shower before bed and then put gel in your hair then go to bed. In the morning finger comb it and it will look really good. Good Luck!
