on a brown skined person would this be a callous?
on the back of my hand (where i often rest my wieght to do stairmaster) its dark and hard and when it gets dry it gts kinda white and flaky. sound like a callous or something else? ive never had a callous so im worried

Yes, it sounds like a bad callus. Wear weight-lifter's gloves next time. You should check the drug store or supermarket for Dr. Scholl's Callus Remover to treat it in the meantime.

Sounds like to me. There no reason a brown skin person couldn't get a callous.
You can get a sun burn, right, so you no different than a light skined person in both cases. But if you that worried as always see a doctor.

Callous means a person is emotionally hardened.

Callus means thickened skin.

Do not confuse the adjective callous, as in Years of dealing with criminals had left her callous, with the noun callus, as in I have a callus on my thumb. Also, do not confuse the verb callous, which means “to make or become callous,” with the verb callus “to form or develop hardened tissue.”
