well, youll need a good bit of money to live comfortably. If youre going to live in manhattan, its obviously higher living costs than the other boroughs - about $15.00/hr full time should be enough to live without problems here. personally, I say dont move into Manhattan, but try for Brooklyn, or even Staten Island. You can try the Bronx too, but I just dont like the bronx - nothing personal. Finding a job - I would suggest you start now looking for jobs in NYC before you move - its so hard to find a good job here its not even funny - that what Im going through now.

You're probably not going to be able to work here easily.

You cant legally hold a job on a tourist visa, or stay in the US for longer than 90 days. If you overstay a tourist Visa its possible you could be banned re-entering the US.

You might be able to get a job as a waitress, if your english is good you might be able to use that to find a job at a shop.

Rents in the NYC area range from around 600$ a month for a small room in a shared apartment in an area outside manhattan (craigslist is great for finding these, but be careful there are scammers there too) (be careful there are lots of bad neighborhoods and lots of good neighborhoods) up to 2500 or more (sky's the limit!) for a one bedroom apartment in Manhattan in a doorman building.

Not hard to find a job...but hard as hell to find a job that pays enough for you to LIVE there. Cost of living in NYC is about as high as anywhere in the world...

your income might want to remember on what you're qualified to do. lease varies on precisely the position you would possibly want to be staying in NYC. a respectable one mattress room condominium can bypass everywhere from $900 to 2,500 a month. perhaps extra in different places contained in the city. NYC might want to be really intense priced yet in case you will get a very sturdy interest, it really is a valuable position to stay.

Nearly impossible if you dont have a green card.... and with these jobs it will not be enough to live on.
