Many people cannot distinguish their personal beliefs from what they think the law should be. So, because they believe a certain way, they cannot understand that not everyone would agree with them.
Therefore, they attempt to impose their beliefs and their choices on everyone else as a matter of enacted law. It's really rather selfish and arrogant, when you think about it -- believing that you know best and that everyone who disagrees with you must be wrong.

I consider myself a christian and I am pro choice. I have never read anything in the bible one way or another on the subject of abortions, so I just use my common sense, I believe it is better to have an abortion than to bring a child into this world that you cannot take care of, or to force a child to be born with a severe disabiltiy or handicap, only to suffer it's whole life.

I am against abortion because I feel strongly about the right to life for all. What have these babies done to deserve death? I have personal feelings and issues with abortion. My choice and my reasons. I do however sympathize with women who have had them or who are facing these choices. I just cannot agree with the choice.

Passages from the Bible supporting life within the womb:
"For You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." Pslam 139:13
"When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, teh baby leaped in her womb." Luke 1: 41
There are also other passages in the Bible that discuss the blessings of children, but there are no passages taht discuss limiting or avoiding any number of children.
And Paul advises us to "see that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless" in Hebrews 12:16
And, by your request, from the Old Testament (Ezekial 33):
" 1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 "Son of man, speak to your countrymen and say to them: 'When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, 4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not take warning and the sword comes and takes his life, his blood will be on his own head. 5 Since he heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning, his blood will be on his own head. If he had taken warning, he would have saved himself.
6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and DOES NOT blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, BUT I WILL HOLD THE WATCHMAN ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS BLOOD."
Finally, in summary, I think the best parable for what we are called to do (or not do) as regards pro-life activism is summed up in the story of the Good Samaritan. Luke 10:30-37.
The man who was attacked by robbers was left to die on the road. Other people saw this need and did nothing. Jesus makes it clear that the so-called "men of religion" -- a priest and a Levite, in doing nothing to end the suffering, shared in the responsbility of the man's suffering--if not as much as the robbers I do not know, but still of significancce. Only the Samaritan--a pagan, someone on whom the Jewish people looked down, treated the man's wounds when he saw them. The Samaritan was the only true neighbor of this man.
We pro-life activists are Good Samaritans. We see women and families hurt themselves and we try our best to mend their wounds. If we failed to do this, we would be part of the problem, instead of the solution. Just because we are upholding God's teachings and we are trying to help save babies, that does not mean we are justified in sinning ourselves in order to do so--i.e. we cannot risk our own souls to save the lives of others. So, terror tactics like bombs and threats are not okay and never will be. That is NOT being a good Samaritan--a good Christian.
God Bless you on your quest for truth. Thank you for asking this question!
