If a guy has a girl that he keeps holding on to why won't he just go on and be with her rather than saying they don't like her like that or they don't want to be with her? I had one guy tell me that he couldn't be with a particular girl because he was scared of what the outcome of their relationship would be. (explain that)

i had a guy tell me the same thing - he was scared when we had a good time, he was scared of what the outcome of our relationship would be also, he was scared we would have sex and he would bolt - yeah it was confusing - i thought he was just blowing me off in a nice way, but then he has problems with commitment cause of his previous marriage (cheating wife) so maybe he is just plain scared - but i got off the rollercoaster with him cause i couldn't take his unresolved issues.

Insecurity, immaturity and straight up chauvanism. Take your pick. Frankly, guys know how hard it is to get into a relationship with a girl and frequently get into the mindset of staying with the same girl until they find someone better that they think they have a chance of "getting" with.
