OMG, I can't imagine 500 miles for a year. Wow.
Personally, I make every effort to avoid commuting & I try to keep within a 25 mile radius of my job. My boss however has been driving about 150 miles (one-way) for going on 21 years. I just can't fathom driving over 300 miles in a single day....not just to punch a time clock, not worth it.
Do you commute?

When I worked in DC it used to take me 2-3 hours to go 45 miles
