I think you should go back to the salon that did it and tell them that you don't like it. If your high lights are bleached out really light you will have to have a red filler used with the brown dye to cover the high lights, otherwise the high lights will probably turn green. Never put brown dye straight over bleached hair. DO NOT put ash over it like someone said. Good luck.

Yes you can do that all over the hair, but I suggest you wait a few days to a week. I usually don't go back to the salon to fix things because...beauticians are not perfect. They can mess up again. It's better to do it yourself and not waste the money.

If you do it yourself, the day before do a deep conditioning. Highlights really strip your hair and if you're going over them, it'll just ruin them even more. The highlights will still show up, but they won't be as noticeable. As for the dark brown...if there was any black mixed in, it might be hard to cover it, as most dark hair colors are hard to dye over, unless you bleach them. I don't recommend the bleaching.

Get a box of a medium golden brown, or light golden brown.

At one time I had medium brown hair with really light highlights....and I hated it, too. I got a light ash brown hair dye from Walmart and dyed all of my hair with it. It darkened the highlights and slightly lightened my brown hair. It worked well because when my hair grew out, the roots weren't noticable. Hope that helps!

go back to the salon that did it and tell them you don't like it... most salons will fix their mistakes for free. some will schedule a consultation first to find out what you really want and what was done wrong and you can make sure then that you will not be charged and if you will what will be the cost before they start. putting box color over your highlights will only damage your hair and you will likely end up with an undesirable shade that you will have to get fixed anyway

I think when you mess with some of the products that you can buy at the stores; you find yourself in a bigger mess. Why didn't you tell the cosmetologist that you weren't happy with the color before you left the shop? Did you have it done at a beauty shop?
Sometimes too much processing can cause "big" hair problems. If you had it done at a shop I would go back to that shop. If you did it yourself, I would still seek professional help. Ever look around you and see all the messed up heads that have done their own color jobs?

OMG. You people are mean!!! You can make your hair turn green or orange or it can get really damaged if you don't know what you're doing. If you have to do it yourself, make sure it's a wash or a temporary color, like Natural Instincts that will wash out in a few days if you don't like the results. There are a ton of color enhancing shampoos you can buy too that won't dry out your hair. My salon has one that I love.

Did you just get it done at a salon or at home. It is up to you but I would go to a salon and ask them. Then go somewhere to buy hair color. After talking to a salon they should be able to help you figure out how to recolor you hair back again, and what dye to use to look natural. Good luck!

before doing anything consider this putting dye or rinse on the hair can cause damage to the hair it can cause it to brake off,I would first use a neutralizer before trying anything else then I would use a rinse it's not as hard as a dye

I think, it would be economical and probably best, to ask the SAME team, who did your hair this time, FOR the corrections that you NOW want. I really DO hope, they give you all possible concession. Reason: CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, AND REPUTATION OF THE SHOP/ORGANIZATION.
