I was thinking of this same question this weekend becuase I am in the same situation as you (except I don't have a husband.) If you will be on maternity leave, I am assuming that you are going back to your same job. Is that right? If not, use it as an excuse to get a better-paying job. Even interview now for a better job. (They can't ask if you are pregnant.)
But as far as your question, there are several options:
1. sell Avon, Mary Kay, or Tupperware from your home to friends and neighbors. You could go on short walks with your baby in your neighborhood, and people may be more inclined to buy if you brought your reason along with you. They also have regular weekly or biweekly support groups to help boost your sales, feature new products, or give out prizes, so it's a great network.
2. Are you good at computers? There is buying and reselling on ebay (may be a little risky and need some money upfront.) It would also take some research on what things are valueable. There is making webpages or using your knowledge to train people. Start a computer tutor class for the computer illiterate.
3. You could babysit/watch other children in your home. May not be ideal if you are just looking short term for quick cash. It does not pay the greatest.
4. You could work temp jobs in the evenings while your husband is home with the baby. You may not spend much time with him though.
5. Sell something you don't need. Yard sales are a lot of work, so hook up with somebody who is having one, and give them a commission for selling/watching your stuff.
6. Tutor kids afterschool. Advertise through a local school, offer to pick them up/drop them at home. Make sure you communicate with the parents about their progress.
7. Ask around if anybody needs help. An elderly neighbor needing groceries, a disabled person needing assistance.
There's plenty of opportunities if you just look and ask!!

Is child daycare a possibility for you?
You haven't told us anything about your skills - only that there are places you don't want to work. This makes it difficult to make meaningful suggestions.
If you haven't done this already, I would also suggest taking a long hard look at your current budget with an eye to reducing expenses now in preparation for your upcoming maternity leave.

I am a consultant with The Body Shop at Home. I started for the same reason you are looking. I was pregnant and wanted some money while I was on maternity leave, I am doing so well at it that I have yet to return to a regular full-time job and my son is 10 months old. If you would like some more info please email me at flaminfortune@yahoo.com I would be happy to help you.

I read somewhere that you can file for disability if you aren't being paid for maternity leave. Check into that in your state.
I got lucky and paid off my car as well as a furniture bill so we didn't have to worry about it. Doing that left me very dependent on his income for a few months which caused many arguments and what not. I know it's our money cause we're married but we don't do things that way.
Good Luck and CONGRATS

Can you become an Avon Rep, or hold Body Shop, or tuppaware parties? These can all be a way to earn extra income.

Do you have a hobby? Scrapbooking, beading, stamping?
You could sell your services. There are a lot of moms who are too busy to scrapbook, but would love to hand over their pictures for a scrapbook...
Or you can make jewelry...
Or if you stamp or scrapbook, you could start making cards and selling them....
